TPRO is Microsoft® Windows® based PC software designed to meet the unique information needs of the thermal process industry. It’s predecessor, TPRO for DOS, assisted thermal processors beginning in1986 with analysis and calculation of thermal process information. It has been used around the world to perform heat penetration calculations and produce graphic output.

With the MS Windows version of TPRO we have attempted to keep the flexibility and functionality of the original TPRO for DOS while bringing a more up to date interface as well as new features to the user. The flexibility to change any parameter that may effect thermal process calculations is still part of the system as well as flexible ways to do general method and Ball method calculations. All the functionality of the original TPRO is preserved. These features include:

• Print output from Ball calculations, print the one variable ranging and print a table corresponding to the two variable ranging.

• Convert from Fahrenheit to Celsius or you can use either temperature scale exclusively.

• Review displays and prints from the Ball calculation the include optional lethality or cook time, lethality at steam off and center container temperature at steam off.

• Utilize a database of Ball parameter sets corresponding to processes you use. The processes from this database are recallable at any time.

• Reset the bounds on the various Ball parameters yourself.

• Use the standard formatting options available in Windows for printed reports.

• Use easy, direct entry of temperature profiles with graphics that assist in updating and maintaining accurate data.

• Maintain a database of temperature profiles corresponding to your thermal processes.

• Drag and drop ruler fitting to a log linear plot of temperatures on the computer screen. Ruler fitting can be done for both simple and broken heating curves. TPRO provides immediate feedback of the resulting f_h,j_h,f₂ and X_bh values.

• Review the General method calculation that shows the temperature cooling curve added at steam off according to Ball’s assumptions.

• Print reports and graphics of temperature profiles using Windows fonts and font sizes of your choice.

• Reset cooling assumptions (f_c and j_c) for general method calculations.

• Load profiles from original TPRO for DOS data. Using TPRO for Windows means you do not lose any old temperature profiles or processes.

• Compare profiles from the general method entry to profiles loaded from many sources.

• Load profiles from TPRO general method, from TLOG for DOS files or from a spreadsheet file containing temperature data. Use any temperature data generated by any logging device that can load a spreadsheet!

• Show a multi-color display of up to 15 temperature profiles taken from any source simultaneously on the screen.

• Zoom in on any place in the display for a closer look.

• Highlight any lead displayed and show temperature maximums and minimums for the entire process.

• Create hardcopy of the multi-lead display with Windows fonts and font sizes of your choice.

• Create a TPRO general method profile after analyzing the displayed leads and use it to estimate parameters and represent your process for production purposes.

TPRO helps you keep a database of formulations corresponding to your product systems. Data entry is for any batch size and TPRO will rescale the batch at the direction of the user.
